Cody Kahmar is the new voice of R&B – one that is rough on the outside but smooth going down. He has recently received buzz for his collaboration with rising Philly rapper Chill Moody on the track “My Eyes.” Chill and Cody created a video for the song, which instantly became a hit (at the time of this writing, the video had 21,349 views). “Doing that video is the most important decision I ever made because that video really made it take off.” In the wake of the video, “My Eyes” is currently enjoying rotation on stations like 100.3 The Beat. As a toddler, singing was child’s play for Cody, but until someone pointed out his potential, he had never taken it seriously. Learning a long line of instruments and participating in choirs did not hold Cody’s attention, until he hit the stage for the first time in his 6th grade talent show performing Usher’s “You Make Me Wanna.” He has not turned back since. Thanks to the success of “My Eyes,” Cody has been able to perform in front of audiences of 500 at the TLA and has recently been handpicked to open for a crowd of over 7,000 at The Liacouras Center for hip-hop superstar Kid Cudi. Cody is currently in the studio with Bell Tower Music, Temple University’s student run record label, recording a forthcoming EP and planning a college tour in the near future.
